Maida (white flour) Dose
Many would say No No to Maida. But when you don't know what to cook for breakfast, I say WTF.
You will need:
Maida - 2 Cups (sieved)
Buttermilk - 1 Cup
Onion - 1 chopped finely
Green Chilli - 2 chopped finely
Ginger - 1 inch
Coconut - 2 tbsp (grated) - Optional
Coriander leaves - 2 tbsp chopped finely
Salt to taste
Oil - 2 tbsp
Mix salt to maida. Add Buttermilk and water so that a batter is formed without lumps.
Add the rest of the ingredients.
Heat a Dose tawa. take one ladle of the batter and pour it on the grease smeared tawa.
Pour 1/2 tsp of oil on the edge of the dose so that it becomes crisp.
Close the lid and let the dose cook for about 2 -3 mins
Cook on both sides.
Serve it hot with Chutney or pickle
Makes about 12-14 doses
Tip: Dose tastes better if butter is used instead of oil for pouring on the Dose.
