Methi flavored Dal Palak

You will need:
Spianch/Palak Leaves - 2 big bunches (cleaned properly and chopped)
Pegion Pea Lentil - 1/2 Cup (Tur Dal)
Onion - 2 (chopped)
Tomato - 2 (chopped)
Ginger - 1 inch (optional)
Turmeric - 1/4 tsp

Green Chilli - 2 nos (slit )
Fenugreek seeds - 2 tsp (roasted and powdered)
Salt to taste

Seasoning:
Oil - 1 tbsp
Cumin seeds - 2 tsp
Red Chillies - 2 nos.
Curry Leaves - 5-8 nos

Heat a Pan, add oil. Once the oil is hot, add cumin seeds, red chillies and curry leaves.
Add ginger and saute for a minute
Add Onion and saute for 2 minutes
Add Tomato and saute for 2 minutes
Add the Palak and saute. Add salt and close the lid of the pan. Let the palak cook for about 10 mins.
Add the cooked dal and green chilli and remaining salt, turmeric and cook for another 5-10 mins.
Just before serving, add the powdered fenugreek seeds.


Serves about 8 people
Served along with: Chapathi, Rice, Roties.
