Dal Fry - Varsha Style

Varsha and I have been friends for a long time. She is such an amazing cook that all our friends die to eat what she makes.

You will need:

4 Tb Oil
½ Tb Jeera & Dhaniya powder
1 Tb Chilli Powder
1 Tb Ginger, Garlic paste
1 big Onion
1 Big Tomato
1 Cup Tur Dal
Coriander leaves – according to taste
Salt to taste

Heat up the oil and add jeera and Dhaniya powder, chilli powder, ginger garlic paste and chopped Onions. Fry till deep brown and add the tomato’s and fry for 2 minutes. Add the Dal (should be a thick paste) . Boil well and add the coriander leaves.
Ready to serve.

Goes well with Plain pulav, Jeera rice, plain rice, Chapathi, Puri, Parantha’s etc

Serves about 3-4 people

Trivia:
Also add a pinch of turmeric when you fry the powder in the oil.. Be careful that the powder doesn't get burnt in the oil.. Its better to heat the oil switch off the gas and then fry these powders and again switch on before you fry the onions.
