Capsicum Rice Baath

You will need:

Oil - 1 tbsp
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
black gram - 1 tsp
Red Chillies - 2
Curry leaves - 5-6
Peanuts - 1/4 cup
Green Chillies - 1 (chopped finely. Optional, as capsicum would be spicy).
Onion - 2 chopped
Capsicum (pepper) - 2 chopped
Rice - 2 cups cooked
Turmeric - 1 tsp
Lemon juice - 1 tsp
Sugar - 1 tsp
Salt to taste
To garnish
Coriander leaves - 1/4 cup (chopped finely)
Carrots - 1 grated (optional)


Heat a thick bottom pan. Add oil.
When the oil is hot, add mustard seeds, black gram, red chillies and curry leaves.
Add green chillies.
Add peanuts and saute till they are roasted.
Add onion and fry until golden brown.
Add capsicum and fry till they are tender. Add Turmeric.
Put the fire out.
Add salt and sugar and the lemon juice.
Add rice and mix well.
Reheat until the rice is heated so that the rice absorbs the masala.
